- Escalating Conflict and Humanitarian Impact:The humanitarian situation in Lebanon is worsening due to intensified Israeli airstrikes, which have resulted in 1,974 deaths and 9,384 injuries, including significant damage to critical civilian infrastructure and densely populated areas.
- Mass Displacement:ÂOver 1.2 million people are internally displaced, with 774 out of 973 registered shelters at full capacity. More than 235,000 people have fled to Syria, but evacuation efforts are hindered by dangerous border conditions.
- Healthcare and Humanitarian Workers Targeted:ÂThe conflict has led to the closure of 98 healthcare facilities and the deaths of 97 healthcare workers. Amel’s Education Center in Kfar Joz, Nabatieh, was partially destroyed, highlighting the direct targeting of humanitarian workers and facilities.
- Emergency Humanitarian Response:ÂAmel continues to deliver basic assistance, including distributing hygiene kits, water, blankets, and medicines. Since September 23rd, 1,624 Primary Health Care consultations, 87 Reproductive Health consultations, and 299 Mental Health interventions have been provided.
- Protection and Psycho-Social Support:ÂAmel has provided Psychological First Aid to 3,365 internally displaced persons and 517 children. Additionally, 1,754 children participated in recreational activities, and 599 individuals received ongoing psycho-social support.
